Authenticity Is Not the Same as Being Blunt

One of the most common things I hear from clients is:

"Just tell me the truth. Don't hold back. I can handle it."

While I understand what they mean, authenticity and bluntness are not the same thing.

As psychics, we have a responsibility when delivering a message. Receiving information is only part of the process. Communicating it in a way that can be understood is equally important.

Many people come for a reading because they are facing a challenge, repeating a pattern, or trying to understand a situation that feels confusing. If they already fully understood the lesson, they likely would not be struggling with it in the first place.

Sometimes the lesson is so far outside their current perspective that delivering a raw, unfiltered message does not help them. Instead, it can create confusion, defensiveness, or even fear.

I often think of the saying that several people can stand before the same tree and describe it differently. The tree has not changed. The perspective has.

The same is true in readings.

A message may be accurate, but if it is delivered in a way the client cannot understand, they may interpret it very differently than intended. They may hear criticism where none was given. They may hear judgment where there was only observation. Not only that, but they may leave feeling hurt instead of empowered.

Was the message authentic? Perhaps.

Was it communicated effectively? That is a different question.

Over the years, I have learned that every client is different. Some clients need directness. Some need time to process. Some will challenge the message. Others will search for signs everywhere. Some will continue asking the same question until they hear the answer they want.

The clients who concern me most are often the ones who say, "Tell me the truth. I can handle it."

Often, the very thing they cannot yet see is the obstacle standing in front of them. If that truth is delivered without compassion or understanding, it may feel like an attack on their identity rather than an opportunity for growth.

People who are not ready to face a lesson often look outward for someone to blame. The psychic, a friend, a partner, a family member, or circumstances become the focus instead of the deeper lesson that is trying to emerge.

This is why I believe psychics have a responsibility to deliver truth with compassion.

A reading is not simply about repeating information. It is about understanding the person sitting in front of you. It is about feeling where they are emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, and communicating in a way they can receive.

The goal is not merely to predict.

The goal is to help someone understand.

Truth matters. Accuracy matters. But communication matters too.

Sometimes the most authentic message is not the one that is delivered the hardest. It is the one that is delivered in a way that allows the person to truly hear it.
