When Your Intuition Is Quiet, Is It Still Working?

Sometimes when your intuition becomes quiet, it doesn't necessarily mean you're blocked.

Maybe you're shifting.

Maybe you're being asked to grow in a different way.

I've noticed that we can become comfortable receiving intuitive information through one particular method. Maybe you're very good at reading tarot or oracle cards. You pull a card, something immediately comes to you, and you've learned to trust that process.

Then suddenly, nothing.

You look at the cards and don't feel the same connection you usually do.

It's easy to think, What's wrong with me? Why can't I read anymore? Am I blocked?

But what if nothing is wrong?

What if you're simply being nudged to listen differently?

Intuition Doesn't Have Just One Voice

This is one reason I think it's important to explore different ways of working with intuition and psychic ability.

If suddenly you can't connect with your cards the way you normally do, put them down for a moment.

Maybe instead of seeing something, you're going to feel something.

Maybe a word or sentence suddenly comes into your mind.

Maybe you hear something internally.

You might experience a smell that doesn't seem to have an obvious source.

Or maybe you need to simply start talking and allow the message to channel itself out.

There are so many ways information can reach us.

I also think our sensitivity can change depending on what we're doing in our everyday lives. Different activities require us to use different parts of ourselves. Some days we're creating. Some days we're communicating. Other days we're solving problems, taking care of people, working physically, or spending more time inward.

I believe that can affect where our energy and attention are naturally flowing. From an energy-work perspective, I sometimes think of it as certain chakras becoming more active depending on what we're experiencing and working on.

So why should our intuition feel exactly the same every single day?

Don't Learn Only One Language

This is something that's important to me when I teach.

I don't want someone to only learn how to read tarot or oracle cards.

I want them to explore a little bit of everything—channeling, clairaudience, empathic or clairsentient impressions, visual impressions, even intuitive experiences involving scent.

You don't necessarily have to become highly developed in every one of them.

Some abilities may become very strong.

Others may sit quietly in the background.

And then one day, when you need them, something wakes up.

An ability you haven't experienced in months may suddenly become the clearest way you're receiving information.

That's why I don't think psychic development should always be about perfecting one method.

It's also about becoming flexible enough to recognize a message when it arrives differently than you expected.

Where Is the Information Coming From?

People have different beliefs about where intuitive information comes from.

Some call it Source.

Some communicate with spirit guides or ancestors.

Others understand intuition through the subconscious mind.

And there are many other ways people interpret these experiences.

However you understand it, I think the important thing is not to limit something that may have an unlimited number of ways of reaching you.

I've often thought about how we communicate with one another here on the physical plane.

When we really want someone to understand us, we try different ways of getting the message across.

If they don't understand what we're saying, we explain it differently.

We might show them.

We might write it down.

We might use an example.

We find another way to communicate.

I'd like to think psychic or intuitive communication can work something like that too.

Maybe we're not the only ones trying to make the connection.

Maybe whatever we're connecting with is also trying to find the best way to reach us.

Of course, we still have free will. We can interpret things differently. We can see what we want to see. We can ignore something completely.

That's why discernment will always be important in this work.

Intuitive development is a meeting place.

We learn how to listen, and whatever we're connecting with learns how to reach us.

We meet somewhere in the middle.

So the next time your intuition suddenly becomes quiet, don't immediately assume you've lost something.

Explore.

Listen differently.

Put down the tool you've become comfortable with and notice what else is happening.

Your intuition may not have disappeared at all.

It may simply be teaching you a new language.
